Indiana launches website to help parents find child care

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): The state of Indiana has started a website that gives parents listings of child-care providers in the state.

The Child Care Finder is available at ChildCareFinder.IN.gov. It includes state-licensed facilities, child care ministries and other providers that have registered with the state.

Indiana Family and Social Services Administration head John Wernert tells The Northwest Indiana Times that it’s not always easy for parents to find child care. He says that’s why the agency tried to make the website “as useful to families as possible.”

Website users can search providers based on hours needed, geographical area, types of facility or a child’s age. There also are links to inspection reports, complaints and enforcement actions.
