Indiana Murder Conviction Appeal Parallels ‘American Sniper’ Case Defense

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WOWO): Former Marine, Eddie Ray Routh, was convicted in Texas Tuesday in the deaths of “The American Sniper,” Chris Kyle, and his friend Chad Littlefield, as jurors rejected defense arguments that Routh was insane and suffered from psychosis. In Indiana, a similar defense will be brought before the Supreme Court Thursday in the case of 39-year-old Andrew Satterfield, who is serving a life sentence for killing his mother in 2011. Satterfield's lawyers will go before an Evansville judge tomorrow to argue that their client should've received a different conviction due to his history of mental illness.
