Indiana Towns Face Cleanup from Storms

ALEXANDRIA, Ind. (AP) _ Residents of some central Indiana communities face cleanup work after thunderstorms moved through the area.

The storms that hit Monday caused a tree to fall into a house in the Madison County city of Alexandria. The evening storm also knocked down several utility poles around Alexandria and in the nearby communities of Frankton and Elwood.

Madison County Sheriff Ron Richardson tells The Herald Bulletin that a woman suffered an injured foot at the home hit by the tree.

Indiana Michigan Power reported nearly 800 homes or businesses without electricity in Madison County following the storm, but most power was restored by Tuesday morning.
