INDIANA, (WOWO): Indiana's jobless rate is holding steady, says Department of Workforce Development Spokesman Joe Frank. He says the the unemployment rate for October is the same as September at 5.7%.
Frank says that’s because some 14,000 people entered the Indiana labor force in the past month, therefore, the labor force has grown by 65,000 people in the past year. The report shows that more Hoosiers are feeling encouraged and are re-entering the labor market, especially the retail and manufacturing labor sectors. Trade, transportation and utilities sector also grew by 3,300 jobs and the manufacturing sector grew by 2,500 jobs in the past month.
The nation's unemployment rate is 5.8%.
