Inmate Injured After Fall At Huntington County Jail

HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WOWO): An inmate was hospitalized after a fall over the weekend at Huntington County Jail.

The unidentified inmate was being transported by a private company's van for extradition while another inmate was dropped off at the jail.

Our partners in news at 21Alive say, when the van pulled into the bay, the inmate got out of the vehicle and his leg chain was caught on the metal grate on the back of the van.

He fell headfirst and was flown to a Fort Wayne hospital in serious condition.
