ISP Warns Motorists After Semi Hits Patrol Car on I-69

GRANT COUNTY, IND. (WOWO) An Indiana State Police vehicle was struck by a semi-truck early Monday morning on I-69 in Grant County, according to the ISP.

The trooper’s car was parked at a crash scene with its emergency lights activated when the truck hit it. No one was injured in the incident.

The Peru District of the Indiana State Police issued a reminder to drivers that these types of collisions are preventable. Officials urged motorists to slow down, move over when possible, and remain alert when approaching or passing emergency scenes.

Incidents involving vehicles striking parked emergency responders have been a focus for Indiana State Police, as they pose serious risks to officers and other first responders working on the roadside.
