IUPUI Chancellor Touts Changes Made Over 12 Years

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): The chancellor of Indiana-Purdue University at Indianapolis says the downtown campus is increasing its number of graduates and attracting more research funding.

IUPUI Chancellor Charles R. Bantz says the campus awarded 1,600 more baccalaureate degrees last year and increased research funding by 50 percent since 2002.

He also cites the largest fundraising campaign in Indiana University's nearly 200-history, which raised $1.39 billion.

Bantz said last week during his annual state of the campus speech that IUPUI's development plan envisions a high-tech campus that permits real-time access to content and experts on the campus, in Indianapolis and around the world.

Bantz was appointed chancellor of the downtown Indianapolis campus in 2003.
