Ivy Tech Community College-Northeast receives $99K grant

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne college is getting a large grant for career and technical education courses.

The Indiana Department of Education announced the recipients of the Career and Technical Education Rural Grant on Friday. The Ivy Tech Community College- Northeast is receiving $99,997.

In total, the department is giving away more than $1.73 million to 19 different schools. The grants will be used to support innovative projects focused on development, improvement and expansion of career and technical education programs in rural area.

“Every student should have the opportunity to participate in high-quality career and technical education courses no matter where they live in the state,” said Glenda Ritz, Indiana’s Superintendent of Public Instruction.
