FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): There’s a scam going around involving jury duty.

The Allen Superior Court is issuing a warning about phone calls coming from a 260 area code number, with a caller posing as a police detective, telling people they missed jury duty, and demanding they buy a prepaid debit card to avoid going to jail, according to 21Alive.

The Court and Allen County Sheriff both say if you miss jury duty, you may be fined or held in contempt of court, but that’s never done over the phone.

If you get such a call, hang up.
