Kentucky man run over by his own truck dies

PETERSBURG, Ind. (AP): Indiana State Police say a Kentucky man died after he was run over by his own pickup truck after he pulled over on a farm field.

Police say they don't know why 72-year-old Lonnie Frederick of Madisonville, Kentucky, got out of his truck Thursday night in a field near Petersburg, about 45 miles north of Evansville. Police say he was spotted by a neighbor of the farm.

Detectives say Frederick stopped on a slight downgrade in a farm field about 20 feet off the road and walked in front of the vehicle without putting it in park. They say the pickup started to roll and ran him over.

The Pike County coroner has ruled the death an accident.
