Man found dead in early morning Terre Haute fire



TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP): Firefighters responding to a fire at a low-income housing facility in downtown Terre Haute found the body of a 61-year-old man inside.



Terre Haute Fire Department Fire Chief Jeff Fisher tells the Tribune-Star (http://bit.ly/1n0C7ou ) the man likely died as a result of the fire but officials would have to wait for results of an autopsy. He says the cause of the fire remains under investigation.



Firefighters were called to the scene of the fire at the Deming Center about 2 a.m. Friday. The fire was contained to a single apartment on the third floor.



The name of the victim has not been released.
