CHESTERTON, Ind. (WOWO): A Knox woman is arrested for trafficking to inmates. Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an incident in the Indiana Dunes State Park Tuesday of a woman who was trying to drop off synthetic marijuana and tobacco to a work release inmate. 38-year-old Christy Chavez was arrested by Conservation Officers after being apprehended by the Indiana Department of Corrections Police. Chavez was incarcerated at the Porter County Jail on charges of trafficking a controlled substance (Class C Felony) to an IDOC offender from the Westville Correctional Facility.
