FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne hockey tradition is closing its doors forever.

The Komet Kuarters hockey store has been in business for 23 years on East Coliseum by Coldwater. However, “changing habits of consumers” is forcing the store to close its doors for good.

The announcement of the store’s closure was made by Bill Franke on Facebook Wednesday afternoon. Franke thanked customers for their support of the hockey pro shop and Komets merchandise store.

The store is holding a liquidation sale of its hockey equipment, Komets gear, NHL gear and souvenirs before closing.
