FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for shooting a man at a liquor store last summer.

Homer Richards, 53, was found guilty of attempted murder and aggravated battery last month, according to our news partners at 21Alive.

On Sept. 21, 2015, an argument broke out at the Cap N’ Cork on East Lewis Street.  Richards then shot 46-year-old Peter Major, of Fort Wayne.  Major was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but survived.

Richards was arrested a day later after police surrounded his apartment and spent several hours getting him to surrender. The prosecutor said in court that Richards did not take responsibility for the crime.
