Local companies seek tax abatements for expansion plans

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A couple of Fort Wayne companies are planning to expand.

The City Council is expected this week to hear about a proposal by Calico Precision Molding that will include them investing more than a million dollars in their facility on Progress Road, a move that the News-Sentinel says will mean equipment upgrades and 12 new jobs. In exchange, they’re asking for a tax abatement that would save them over $55,000.

Accutech Mold & Machine is also asking for a tax abatement to the tune of just under $13,000 so they can add a quarter-million dollars worth of equipment to their Goshen Road location, as well as one new job.
