Fort Wayne home declared total loss after early morning fire

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne fire crews were dispatched to a house fire on the city’s southwest side shortly after 5:15 a.m. Monday. They say flames coming from the home on Ridgelane Drive were visible from at least four blocks away. Once on the scene, officials found the residence fully involved with a partial roof collapse in the center of the structure.

After protecting the homes on each side of the house fire, crews then began to extinguish the blaze, bringing it under control in about 10 minutes. The one story home sustained heavy smoke, fire, and water damage, and was a total loss.

No one was inside at the time of the incident, and no injuries were reported. The cause is still under investigation.
