Local Group Hosts Rally Against Proposed Wind Turbines

HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WOWO): Opponents of proposed wind farms in Huntington County continue their fight.

In a rally, Saturday, environmental and economic speakers will outline their concerns. The event hosted by Huntington County Concerned Citizens gets under way at 1 p.m. at Knight Bergman Center in Warren.

In March, commissioners passed a ordinance requiring setbacks of 1,000 feet and turbines noise levels below 50 decibels.

The group says that's not enough and has vowed to fight the would-be wind farm expansion, even in the courts, if needed.
