Indiana (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – “Fort Wayne Physical Medicine” says it did receive a lot of tjhe tainted steriod which has been linked to several cases of meningitis but no patients were injected with the medication.
Indiana is among six states receiving a warning from the Food and Drug Administration about the tainted medicine with 10 Hoosiers reportedly falling ill.
Other sites across the state the FDA says received this tainted shot are Ambulatory Care Center, LLP in Evansville, OSMC Outpatient Surgery Center in Elkhart, South Bend Clinic in South Bend, Union Hospital in Terre Haute and Wellspring in Columbus.560 patients in Evansville have received the injections and ten of those patients are reporting symptoms.
Across the nation, five people have died and 30 others have fallen ill.
The FDA says the patients received the steroid shots for back pain. The drug was given out in 23 states.
