Man Beaten after Attempted Attack on Fort Wayne Woman

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne Police are investigating a beating and potential attempted rape case that took place early Monday morning on Greene Street.

Just after 1:30 a.m. police found a man lying on the ground in critical condition. Police believe the man was beaten by a group of people after he tried attacking or raping a woman on the 1400 block of Greene Street.

Some time before the beating, a female victim was heard shouting for help at a nearby apartment complex. That's when a group of individuals came to assist her and battered the man in the street.

The group left the scene prior to the officers arrival. No arrests have been made and police are still looking for witnesses.
