AVILLA, Ind. (WOWO): One man is dead after being pinned under an excavator in Noble County.
Authorities say 72-year-old Phillip Longsworth of Auburn was killed when attempted to remove a strap holding a pan scraper on the excavator.
Investigators say after he released the tension on the strap, he was trapped between the equipment and a trailer.
It happened around 6:45 Thursday night about just south and east of Avilla.
