Man Fatally Shot Trying to Rob Indy Pawn Shop

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Indianapolis police say a customer at an Indianapolis pawn shop fatally shot a man trying to rob the business.


Police say the shooting occurred Tuesday afternoon at the Cash America Pawn store on East 38th Street near the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

 
Police say a man who appeared to be in his 20s came into the store brandishing a gun before he was shot and killed by a customer already inside the business. Police say as many as five customers and three employees were inside the store at the time.
 
The suspected robber was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not immediately released.
