Man Fatally Struck by Taxi in Downtown Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Indianapolis police say a man has died after being struck by a taxi in downtown Indianapolis.

The incident occurred about 2:30 a.m. Sunday, about three hours after the completion of the last of two NCAA men's basketball Final Four games at Lucas Oil Stadium, located less than two miles away from where the man was struck.

Witnesses told police the man ran into the street, and the taxi driver did not have time to stop

The victim's identity was not immediately released. WTHR-TV reported he was a 23-year-old from the Lake County town of St. John.

The cab was carrying six passengers at the time of the accident. None of the passengers were injured.
