Man Found in Lake Freeman After Lawn-Mowing Accident Dies

MONTICELLO, Ind. (AP) – A northern Indiana man found in Lake Freeman after a lawn-mowing accident has died.

Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home in Kokomo says 83-year-old Floyd Grant died Saturday at an Indianapolis hospital.

White County Sheriff Patrick Shafer says boaters pulled Grant from the lake Friday evening and performed CPR until medics arrived.

Shafer says Grant had been mowing a neighbor's yard when the riding mower apparently tumbled down a steep embankment. The sheriff says the mower landed on a boat dock, and Grant was thrown in the water.

The accident occurred south of Monticello, about 70 miles northwest of Indianapolis.
