Man Gets 15-Year Sentence after Beating Estranged Wife with Hammer

A Fort Wayne man is facing 15 years behind bars, for beating his estranged wife a hammer. According to our partners in news at 21 Alive, 69-year-old Raul Garcia was arrested back in July and held on an aggravated battery charge.

He was then later charged with attempted murder for beating Rebecca Garcia several times in the head with a hammer.

This morning, Garcia pleaded guilty to aggravated battery and was given a 15-year prison sentence.

Rebecca Garcia has since recovered from her injuries.
