Man Gets 4 Years for Bilking Indiana Investors

FRANKLIN, Ind. (AP): A Florida man who pleaded guilty to defrauding 34 central Indiana residents out of $1.7 million has been sentenced to four years in prison.

Parry Clark of Jacksonville pleaded guilty to three felony counts of security fraud and one count of fraudulent sale of securities as an unregistered broker-dealer.

Secretary of State Connie Lawson says Clark used others to do his dirty work and took advantage of Indiana residents looking to invest their money.  Authorities say he hired a Johnson County man to help him solicit Indiana investors for his medical malpractice insurance company and then used the money for personal gain.

Investigators learned of Clark's activity after an investor filed a complaint with Indiana State Police.
