FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A man is in critical condition after an apparently accidental shooting early this morning in Fort Wayne.

Fort Wayne Police say they were called to a local hospital after the victim was brought in suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Investigators say they were told he was unloading a handgun when the gun went off and he was hit by a bullet.

It happened on Hobson Road near the Baldwin Creek Apartments at a little before 2:30am.

There have been no arrests made and the victim’s name is being withheld for now.
