MERCER COUNTY, Ohio (WOWO): A Mercer County farmer is dead following a Friday afternoon accident.

43-year-old Ronald Meier of Maria Stein and his father were working on a farm when he was hit by a skid loaded. According to our news partners at 21Alive, the younger Meier was hit by a hit skid loader.

The investigation is centered an equipment malfunction. It appears the bucket fell off the loader, pinning him. He was pronounced died at the scene.
