INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ A man accused in a deadly shooting near the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on the eve of the Indy 500 but released on a technicality is back in custody facing a murder charge.
Marion County prosecutors also have charged 19-year-old Avory Johnson of Indianapolis with a weapons violation.
WISH-TV reports Johnson was arrested Monday in Hurst, Texas.
He's charged in connection with the slaying of 25-year-old Max Levine of Kokomo. Levine was found dead May 24 in the Coke Lot, where fans camp and party on race weekend. Johnson was released days later because of a tainted police lineup.
Police have said Levine's slaying followed an argument.
Online court records don't show an attorney for Johnson. Records indicate a warrant for Johnson's arrest was issued Aug. 21.
