Man Taken Into Custody after Prompting Indianapolis Lockdown

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ A man who entered a U.S. Postal Service office in downtown Indianapolis and asked those inside to pray with him prompted a brief police lockdown around nearby Lucas Oil Stadium.

Police say the man parked his car outside the city's main post office early Tuesday afternoon and left it running while he entered the post office and asked those inside to pray with him.

The Indianapolis Star reports the man then fled to the nearby Indiana Convention Center, where he was taken into custody. It's unclear if he'll face any charges.

Police said the man's vehicle was searched but nothing dangerous was found inside and the lockdown of area buildings was lifted.

A message seeking comment was left with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
