Monroe man identified as early Saturday morning shooting victim

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The man who died in a shooting on the south side of Fort Wayne has been identified.

The Allen County Coroner’s Office says 40-year-old Shawn Reinhart of Monroe died from a gunshot wound. The shooting is being investigated as a homicide.

He was discovered after police on patrol heard gunshots at around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

Police found a parked vehicle in an alley near Pontiac and Anthony Boulevard. Reinhart was unresponsive in the driver’s seat. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Fort Wayne Police are investigating the shooting as a homicide.
