Mourners Honor Indiana Deputy Killed in Crash

FLORA, Ind. (AP): Hundreds of police officers have filled much of a high school gymnasium for the funeral of a central Indiana sheriff's deputy who died when his patrol car rolled over on his way to a crash scene.

Those officers walked past the flag-draped coffin of Tipton County Deputy Jacob Calvin as his funeral began Monday at Carroll High School in Flora.

The 31-year-old Calvin was a 2001 graduate of Carroll High School and had been a Tipton County deputy for 2 1/2-years.

Police say Calvin lost control of his patrol car June 28 on a rural road in Tipton County and wasn't wearing a seatbelt as he was ejected from the car when it rolled several times.
