FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): There’s officially one less school in the Fort Wayne Community Schools family.
The district’s board voted to close Nebraska Elementary School during their regular meeting Monday night, according to the News-Sentinel. Nebraska Elementary has been slated for closure since last November, and this move now allows the district to move ahead with work to turn the former school into an alternative education site for students in middle and high school.
Families who were sending their kids to Nebraska Elementary are being encouraged to instead enroll them at Washington Elementary, which is a little over a mile away.
