CROMWELL, Ind. (WOWO): One man is dead, two others seriously injured after a shootout in Kosciusko County.

Authorities say around 7 p.m. Monday night, bounty hunters were attempting to serve a warrant on 56-year-old Gary Helman at a home on Doswell Drive in Cromwell. That's when Helman and his twin twin brother Larry Helman exchanged gun fire with the men.

The early investigation shows that shots were fired inside and outside. Gary Helman was killed inside the home. His brother Larry and one of the bounty hunters, Tad Martin of Osceola were found wounded outside.

Both are being treated at Fort Wayne hospitals. The warrant for Helman is related to a failure to appear in Kosciusko County court for resisting law enforcement and battery.
