New Diamond Interchange Construction to Begin in April

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): More details are emerging in that new interchange at I-69 and Dupont Road.

As we told you yesteday, it's a new design called diverging diamond. It's an international design that helps traffic flow more efficiently and safely and at about 1/2 the price tag. Work is expect to start yet this spring. The $3.5 million dollar project will include bridge deck work and upgraded ramps. The design is so cutting edge, its the first of its kind in the state and on only a handful of other states have interchanges that use this system.
