New Haven police seek robbery suspect

(New Haven Police Dept.)

NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WOWO): Police in New Haven are looking for help tracking down a suspect responsible for two robberies that happened within a half-hour of each other.

First, police say a white man entered the Dollar General on State Road 930 East and asked the cashier for cigarettes, then demanded money from the cash register, telling her he had a gun and would shoot her if she didn’t do what he said. She didn’t give him any cash and he left, telling her he would be back.

About a half hour later the man allegedly went into the 1st Source Bank on Lincoln Highway East and handed the teller a note, demanding money. He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, headed toward Fort Wayne in a dark vehicle, which has since been recovered by police.

Witnesses say he’s about 40 years old, and has no teeth. We have a photo of the suspect above. If you see him, call police.
