No Go for Huntington County Voting Center Purposal

Huntington, Ind. (WOWO): A proposal to adopt a centralized voting system in Huntington County failed to pass.

Under state law, the change required a unanimous vote. According to Huntington County Clerk Kittie Keiffer, in the vote Wednesday the measure only mustered a 2-1 tally, with a democrat dissenting.

A number of counties around the state are adopting a system were voters go to one location to vote on candidates.

Supporters say its more cost efficient, provides better control of election day issues and limits confusion of finding the right polling place.
