ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO) — No one was injured after a house fire Thursday morning just west of Fort Wayne.

The Northwest Fire District says crews were called around 9:50 a.m. to a home in the 2600 block of Haeman Road, off Leesburg Road, outside Fort Wayne city limits.

According to Northwest Fire District Deputy Chief Robert Boren, the people inside the home were able to escape safely before crews arrived. No injuries were reported.

Fire officials believe the fire started when a vehicle caught fire in the garage and spread to the rest of the home. The house sustained heavy damage.

A total of four fire departments responded to the scene. Haeman Road remains closed in the area while crews continue their work.
