Northeast Indiana getting over $1 million in education, training funds

INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): Northeast Indiana is getting a big cash infusion to help train and educate workers.

Governor Mike Pence announced Wednesday that the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership is getting over $1.3 million in training and education grants.

The Skill UP Indiana! grant will be used to improve workers abilities in the advanced manufacturing, construction and skilled trade sectors.

The Journal-Gazette is reporting that the grants are designed to help fill over 1 million jobs that Indiana is expected to have available over the next decade. Northeast Indiana was one of 13 recipients of Skill UP Indiana grants.
