NEW YORK (AP) _ Pat Connaughton scored a season-high 21 points last night as No. 24 Notre Dame beat Rutgers 69-61 in the second round of the Big East tournament. Tom Knight added a career-high 18 points for the Fighting Irish, who will face No. 12 Marquette in the quarterfinals tonight. Notre Dame has reached the semifinals in each of the last three years, but hasn’t captured a tournament title.
