Notre Dame University Lawsuit Shot Down Over Affordable Care Act

The lawsuit was filed back in May and challenges the federal regulation requiring religious organizations to provide coverage for contraception and abortion inducing drugs. Their argument was that the mandate goes against Catholic beliefs. However, the judge shot down the lawsuit because Notre Dame and other religious employers were given a yearlong exemption. The judge also noted that since the regulation hasn’t gone into affect Notre Dame is still protected from harm to their religious beliefs.
