NTSB Issues Prelim Jet Crash Report

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO) – Federal investigators say a private jet that crashed last month in South Bend bounced off an airport runway several times before it careened into nearby homes.  The findings are included in a preliminary report released this morning by the N-T-S-B into the March 17 crash.  Former University of Oklahoma quarterback Steve Davis and businessman Wes Caves died when the jet they were piloting crashed, injuring three others.  The NTSB says the jet was descending to an airport runway when the pilot radioed he had lost power and hydraulics before attempted an emergency landing.
