LIMA, Ohio (AP) – Operators of an oil refinery in Ohio say it will remain shut down for about a week after it was rocked by an explosion over the weekend.
No one was hurt in the blast that triggered a fire and burned for about 14 hours at the facility in Lima.
Husky Energy Inc. said Monday that the one-week shutdown is precautionary. It says the refinery will still be able to operate even with the damage to one of its processing units.
A Husky spokesman said over the weekend that the company has enough inventory to continue to supply customers.
The explosion on Saturday happened in an area where crude oil is heated so it can be turned into other products.
Some reported feeling the explosion at least 10 miles away.
