Ohio Sheriff: Truck Driver Allegedly Fled Scene After T-Bone Collision at Intersection

OTTAWA, Ohio (WOWO)— A North Carolina truck driver is facing charges after authorities say he caused a crash in northwest Ohio and then fled the scene.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office says 47-year-old Predrag Rasou was driving southbound on Road 7 Tuesday morning when he allegedly failed to stop at a posted stop sign at State Route 65, striking another vehicle in the intersection.

Investigators say after the collision, Rasou left the scene instead of stopping to render aid or wait for law enforcement.

Deputies later located and arrested him on County Road 6 near Pandora according to WTVG.

Inside the other vehicle, a 33-year-old woman and two minor passengers were injured in the crash. All three were transported to Mercy Health – Glandorf for treatment.

Authorities have not released the extent of their injuries, but say they were taken for medical evaluation following the impact.

The crash remains under investigation, and additional charges could be considered as the case moves forward through the court system.
