Ohio teen injured in Steuben County crash

STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): An Ohio teen is recovering after a crash overnight in Steuben County early Wednesday.

Steuben County deputies responded just before 2:30 a.m. near Golden Lake Road South and US 20 after a report of a stolen vehicle.

Deputies and officers with the Angola Police Department spotted a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe matching the description of the vehicle in the report drive by. Soon after, the driver of the Tahoe left the road and crashed into a utility pole. The driver, a 14-year-old from Clye, Ohio, was pinned in the SUV and airlifted by helicopter to Parkview Regional Medical Center.

The driver was released from the hospital later that day with minor injuries.

Police recovered two stolen vehicles that were reported.

The incident is still under investigation.
