One dead in LaGrange County Crash

LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): An 18-year-old from Shipshewana is dead after a crash early Friday afternoon in LaGrange County.

The LaGreange County Sheriff’s Department was called to the intersection of County Roads 500 West and 600 South after a pickup truck hit a motorcycle. Police say the truck, driven by 54-year-old Bernabe Huerta-Rojas of Silver Lake, was slowing to turn north onto County Road 500 West when he failed to yield the right of way to a motorcycle driven by 18-year-old Wayne Ray Weaver.

Police say Weaver was traveling too fast to avoid a crash, and the vehicles collided. Weaver was pronounced dead at the scene. Huerta-Rojas was not injured.
