MARION, Ind. (WOWO) – One person is dead and two first responders were injured following an apartment fire Friday afternoon in Marion.

Firefighters were called to the Prince Hall Housing complex around 12:40 p.m., where a person was reported trapped inside.

Crews found the victim and attempted lifesaving measures, but they died at the scene.

Seven families were displaced. The cause remains under investigation.
