One Dead, Three Injured In Bartholomew County SUV Crash

Bartholomew County (WOWO):  One person was killed and three others were injured Tuesday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash in rural Bartholomew County.

The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called around 2:30 p.m. to North County Road 325 West near Lowell Road after reports of a crash involving an SUV.

When first responders arrived, they found the heavily damaged vehicle off the roadway.

Investigators say one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity pending family notification.

Three other people inside the SUV were hurt and taken to hospitals in Indianapolis for treatment. Two victims were transported by ambulance, while another was airlifted after crews pulled that person from the vehicle.

Investigators have not said what caused the crash. The case remains under investigation by the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office.
