FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): One person was hurt in a house fire Tuesday afternoon in northwest Fort Wayne.

The Fort Wayne Fire Department was called to a one-story home on Emma Avenue a few blocks northeast of the University of St. Francis just after 4:30pm for a house fire. By the time firefighters arrived, one adult and two children had gotten out of the home.

One of those home’s occupants was injured in their escape, but refused medical transportation.

The fire was brought under control in about 15 minutes, and is still under investigation.
