Fort Wayne, Ind. (WOWO): One man is dead after crashing his car into a bridge Saturday morning.

Witnesses told police the man was driving on Coombs Street, just north of E. Washington and lost control of his car while on the bridge around 12:30AM.  He crashed into the bridge and ended the crash in the water.

Fort Wayne Fire Department Dive Team located the male unresponsive in the Maumee River.  He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

It's believed that only one person was in the car at the time of the crash.

This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department F.A.C.T team, and the Allen County Coroners Office.
