Orland Officers Cleared in Investigation

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): No charges will be filed against Steuben County police officers.

An independent prosecutor handling the case has determined there's not enough evidence of criminal intent to continue the case over misuse of Operation Pullover Funds, according to the Angola Herald-Republican.

Last month the Steuben County prosecutor filed the case against Orland Town Marshal Brooke Norton and deputy Kenneth Steele, claiming they accepted money during working their regular hours.

The money in question was intended to pay overtime hours only while officers assist with the enforcement campaign.  In question is about $1200 in money paid, including $1000 for the marshal.
